What is NCR?
NCR (no carbon required) or carbonless books have done away with the need for carbon paper between sheets when you want several copies of the same page. The back of the top sheet is chemically treated so that the pressure of your pen passes through to the pages underneath. The underside of carbonless NCR paper is coated with micro-encapsulated dye that breaks when pressed. The top of the sheet below is coated with clay, which reacts with the dye to leave a permanent mark. When you write on the top sheet, the pressure bursts the micro-capsules and releases the dye.
NCR books are most often used for Job Cards, Order Books, Tax Invoice Books, Delivery Books and similar documents. The common sizes for NCR books are A5 (148x210mm) or A4 (210x297mm), in portrait or landscape. The client must specify the page colours they want, and whether the book is duplicate, triplicate or 4 part. Clients can also choose to have the book numbered and perforated. Duplicates – 100 sets per book. Triplicate – 50 sets per book. 4 part – 25 sets per book.
Continuous NCR
Continuous forms are multi-part sets that feed through a dot matrix printer. Each set can be 1, 2, 3 or 4 pages, crimped together and fed through your dot matrix printer by the familiar perforated strip running down each side.
These NCR sheets are most commonly used for Statements, Invoices, Waybills and similar documents. The client needs to specify how many parts (duplications) they want and which page colours they require. The client also needs to confirm that the size will feed through their machine, so please supply the measurements in millimetres.

Please supply the artwork in the colours you need it printed in. The client needs to specify where they would like the perforated line to run. The artwork needs to start 20mm away from the side you would like perforated. Please supply artwork in PDF format. Alternatively, we can quote on layout and design. The client needs to be clear about which files they have so that we can quote accurately.
